So...It's been a while since my last blog and to tell you the truth I can't remember everything that has happened since then, but I will hit the highlights that I do remember.
Last Tuesday a member of the congregation took Tim and I to Garrison ND to show us a place call Camp of The Cross...I think it's about an hour north of Hazen, but I'm not 100% sure, that's what it felt like anyway. It was really nice though. We dropped of some quilts that some ladies of the church made for a Quilt Auction that will help raise money for the camp. Then we took a tour of the camp, saw the grounds, the kitchen and eating area. It's on beautiful grounds!!! After the tour we went into Garrison to eat lunch. We ate at an old fashion malt shop which was REALLY good! I wish I would have remembered my camera...or that I could have taken pictures with my phone, but pretty sure I had a blonde moment ;)
Thursday was my first day of Quilt Club at the church...every Thursday and one Saturday a month ladies of the church get together from 9-3 to make quilts! You can come when you want and stay as long as you want or can and sometimes there is a shared-dish or pot-luck meal. Well needless to say I had a WONDERFUL time, it was the first time I put together a quilt! Thankfully the tops were already made so we didn't have to sew that but just put the batting and back on and sew the edges! There were 6 of us this last week and we put together a total of 9 quilts! I also brought some banana bread to share and I was a little nervous as it was my first time making banana bread but from what I was told I did a good job! Now I'm sure I will be making it more often!!!
This weekend we had a baby shower for my oldest sister, Brandy, so I drove to the cities for that! Friday I spent the day in the car driving, while Tim had to stay back since it was his first official sermon as an intern on Sunday. Although he did have fun golfing on Friday with the youth director of the church :) Below I have posted some pictures of the shower! She doesn't know what the sex of the baby is so a lot is gender neutral in decoration or it has both girl and boy colors! The shower was on Saturday and then I drove back to Hazen on Sunday! Tim said his sermon went well, I was bummed that I didn't get to see it but I thought I was going to be able to see it air on a local channel on Monday, BUT with DISH TV we don't get the local channel that the sermons air on...I don't quite get how that works. On a positive note we will get a copy of the DVD so I can watch it!!!
Well those are the highlights of the past week...I promise I will get better at updating this more than once a week or so! I am planning on sharing pictures of the house, now that everything is in it's place for the most part so there will be that to look forward too! And again I promise to get better at updating!
